Mount Union welcomes Siena Heights University students to join our Purple Raider family, where they can find support to pursue their educational goals. This transfer pathway is designed to support your transition to Mount Union while also recognizing and honoring the hard work you have completed. Please note: The terms below only apply to students enrolling at Mount Union for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, Fall 2026, or Spring 2027 semesters directly from Siena Heights University.

    The Office of Admission is pleased that you are considering the University of Mount Union. To help make this transition easy and accessible, all undergraduate Siena Heights University students in good academic standing will be automatically accepted.   • Financial Aid
    Scholarships

    Undergraduate students transferring to Mount Union from Siena Heights University will receive the Transfer Pathway Scholarship instead of a traditional merit scholarship. This scholarship is equal to 50% of a student's entering-year tuition.

    Students are also eligible for other institutional awards such as the Campus Visit Award ($1,000), FAFSA Filer Grant ($500), and the Student Life Grant ($3,000).

  • Transferring Guidelines

    Additional Notes for Siena Heights University Transferring Students

    • Students who have earned an associate’s degree at Siena Heights University will not have to complete the following Integrative Core requirements: First Year Seminar, the four Foundation courses (HANS), or the Raider Foundations Portfolio. Students with an earned associate’s degree must complete the Explorations requirement, Capstone, and demonstrate proficiency in Mathematics and the World Languages by either proficiency/placement testing or transfer credit.
      • Siena Heights University students who are within a semester of earning an associate’s degree at Siena Heights may receive the same waivers and exemptions listed above for those who have earned an associate’s degree after review from the UMU University Registrar.

    • The waivers, transfers, and accommodations above are offered only to those students wishing to transfer from Siena Heights University and do not apply to students transferring from other institutions. The waivers, transfers, and accommodations above do not negate or override the University of Mount Union’s traditional transfer policy. The University of Mount Union, through authority granted to the University Registrar, may decline some or all of these waivers, transfers, and accommodations, and may also extend additional waivers, transfers, and accommodations on a case-by-case basis.

    • Siena Heights University students must be active and enrolled students at Siena Heights during the time of inquiry or within at least two semesters of leaving Siena Heights. The University of Mount Union reserves the right to rescind any special waivers, transfers, and accommodations at any time.

    Scholarships

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)

    For students transferring with previous work completed at the MBA level at Siena Heights University, the University of Mount Union will generally transfer up to 15 credits from Siena Heights University, but all transfer students from SHU will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if requesting to transfer in more than 15.

    All transfer credits must have earned a grade of B or higher. Individual review will be completed by the MBA Program Director and certified by the University Registrar. Individual progression plans will be created by the MBA Program Director.

    The MBA Program at Mount Union offers the following concentrations: Business Analytics, Leadership and Innovation, Strategic Healthcare Administration, and Corporate Communication and Public Relations.

  • Master of Education (M.Ed.)

    For students transferring with previous work completed at the M.Ed. level at Siena Heights University, the University of Mount Union will generally transfer up to 15 credits from Siena Heights University, but all transfer students from SHU will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if requesting to transfer in more than 15.

    All transfer credits must have earned a grade of B or higher. Individual review will be completed by the M.Ed. Program Director and certified by the University Registrar. Individual progression plans will be created by the M.Ed. Program Director.

    The M.Ed. Program at Mount Union offers the following concentrations: Athletic Coaching, Instructional Design and Technology, Educational Leadership, and Ohio Principal Licensure.

  • Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN FNP)

    The University of Mount Union offers an MSN Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program that prepares nurses for advanced practice roles, equipping them to deliver comprehensive primary care across all age groups and address growing healthcare demands with autonomy and expertise.
