A Second Home
I had some friends that attending Mount Union which always said good things about their time here. I’m also relatively local and had always heard good things about Mount throughout high school as well. I chose to attend Mount because after attending a slightly bigger college in the city that wasn’t a good fit for me, I wanted a smaller college with a tight-knit community. The fact that everyone on campus—the students, the faculty—seem to genuinely care about my growth and wellbeing felt right. I don’t feel like just another number here. I’ve also been given amazing academic/career opportunities thanks to my professors who I’ve grown strong bonds with.
Experiential Learning
The most significant and my favorite experiential learning opportunity through Mount so far, has been my ticketing internship at the Hall of Fame Village. This has been my favorite experience because I got to observe and play a role in a quickly-growing business like the Village operates. I’ve only ever had strictly accounting internships before, so this internship really opened my eyes to how all the pieces of a business work together to make it function as a whole.
Helpful Faculty
Marci Muckleroy was the most helpful. I came to Mount when she was the head of transfer admission, and I was so nervous to have to adapt to a new school and environment all over again. She immediately put me at ease and was (and still is) a huge source of support for me at Mount. She always sees potential in everyone and has given me so many opportunities that I’m thankful for.
