Why Pursue a Second Master's Degree at UMU?
I chose Mount Union for my second master's degree because they provided me an opportunity to be able to work full time focusing on my career and apply the skills that I’m learning in my own classroom. I am pursuing the master's of education in athletic coaching degree to further expand my knowledge as a coach, and create a continuous adaptive environment to shape our student athletes into good people and successful professionals in their field and not just as athletes. The program has shaped my coaching career in a professional way, allowing me to continue becoming more disciplined when it comes to practicing every routine schedule as I continue to transition from a student athlete to a professional staff role.
Career as a Coach
I am in my fourth year of coaching, cheer and STUNT at Hiram College. I’ve been curating different athlete development and training programs specific to certain age groups and personalities while also finding and creating resources for younger coaches to utilize as they begin their career. My ultimate goal is to continue working as a head coach in a collegiate level for cheer and STUNT and eventually work my way to an athletic director position at a college campus.
