Why Sociology?
As an undergraduate I became interested in sociology. At the same time I worked for the Upward Bound program which led me into the profession. After getting my undergraduate degree I decided to pursue the Ph.D. in order to become a sociology professor.
The Personal Experience
Mount Union provides a small, personal environment for a young person to develop and be educated. Its strengths lie in its ability to nurture student success because, to put it simply, I can get to know my students and they can get to know me.
Mount Union's Social Sciences
In the Department of Social Sciences we provide a variety of opportunities for students interested in the social sciences. Our Department houses majors and minors in sociology, criminal justice, political science, history, international affairs and diplomacy, national security and foreign intelligence analysis, and the 3+3 law degree program.
