A Career in Education
In my role as a Full Spectrum Learning (FSL) Support Specialist, I coordinate academic and social-emotional supports for neurodiverse students at APSU. I oversee peer tutors and peer coaches, manage study-room operations, and use data to monitor student progress and guide interventions. I collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and campus partners to create inclusive learning environments and provide individualized support that helps students strengthen their academic skills, self-advocacy, and overall well-being. As an instructor for APSU’s master’s-level education courses, I design and teach curriculum focused on inclusive practices, learning theory, and effective classroom strategies. I support graduate students by providing clear instruction, meaningful feedback, and opportunities for reflection that bridge research and real-world application. My goal is to cultivate strong, reflective educators who feel confident implementing equitable and student-centered approaches in their own classrooms.
Loving Mount Union
I love Mount Union because it truly felt like home during such a formative season of my life. It was a place where people knew my name, believed in my potential, and gave me space to lead, serve, and grow. One of my favorite memories is from senior year—standing with my classmates at a campus event, realizing how many roles I’d stepped into there: student leader, Regula Scholar, sorority sister, future educator. In that moment, it really hit me how much Mount Union had poured into me and how ready I felt to go out and support students in the same way I had been supported.
