Combining Finance with Criminal Justice
I chose finance and management because I’ve always loved working with numbers and understanding how businesses function. I added a criminal justice minor because I have a strong interest in law and the legal system. This combination lets me explore both the analytical and structured side of business while also diving into the legal system. Ultimately, I'd like to apply the knowledge I've gained in both fields because they've become a passion of mine more than just a career.
Advice to Prospective Students
Go with your gut and choose a place that feels right—not just on paper, but in person. Visit campuses, talk to students, and think about where you’ll grow the most as a student and person. Don’t be afraid to stay close to home if the school offers everything you need—sometimes the best fit is right in front of you!
Life as a Student-Athlete
I've had to learn to manage my time between academics, being on the softball team, working, and taking care of my health and well-being. It hasn’t always been easy, especially during times when I've felt overwhelmed or uncertain. But pushing through those moments has taught me resilience, time management, and the importance of asking for help when I need it. As a student-athlete I've also gained leadership and communication skills which will help me succeed as a professional.
