Why Mount Union?
I had been attending high school basketball shoot outs since my freshman year of high school. There was a special feeling since the first time I stepped on campus. While starting to search for colleges I wanted to attend, I knew that Mount Union was first on the list. There is a certain feeling when you step on campus. From the beautiful scenery that brings a sense of comfort to the friendly faces and community that bring a sense of warmth. It is a place where I feel connected and supported in my academic, athletic, and personal journey.
Experiental Learning
The opportunities that have been gifted to me thus far in my journey will not only prepare me for the field I plan to go into, but will be life long memories. During my Marketing Principles class my freshman year, I competed with fellow classmates in a marketing plan competition. Professor McConnell challenged us to create a marketing plan for a new local non-profit organization. Afterward, we presented it to the board of that soon to be open organization! This experience allowed me to learn how marketing plans are created as well as build a connection with a successful business women. Lucky for me, my group even won!
Ultimate Career Goal
Since before I can remember I have loved talking to people. Marketing allows me to carry out my strategic communication skills. Upon graduating from Mount Union, I'd like to go into the medical device sales business. Mount is preparing me to be an expert in the field by providing real-world experiences which also allow me to build networking skills.
