2026 Mount Union MLK Award Winners Announced

ALLIANCE — Several individuals were honored during the University of Mount Union’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Keynote and Awards on January 22.

Mark Black ’98, chief organizational impact officer and senior Title IX coordinator at Mount Union, was awarded the Faculty/Staff Prize and student Ava Powers ’27 received both the Student Award and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Citizens Award. Also honored during the event were community members Marion (Duke) Grimes and Susan Mastroianni for their contributions. 

The event was part of Mount Union’s annual MLK Week, which included more than 300 volunteers participating in the annual MLK Day of Service. Learn more about the awards and events at mountunion.edu/mlk-week.
