"Studying abroad allowed me to grow in so many ways, exposing me to an entirely different culture and way of life, " said Pitinii. "I never would have [developed a new perspective of life] if I stayed within the borders of my own country."
During her time in Spain, Pitinii visited the Oceanográfic, the largest aquarium in Europe, and ventured off to the city to see the Catedral de Santa María. She also enjoyed water rafting and swimming with classmates. Immersing herself in the Spanish culture allowed Pitinii to build friendships and expand her network as she worked alongside a native Ph.D. student focusing on research.

"I am certain that the global experience I gained will aid me in my professional career as a physician because I developed communication and cultural empathy skills," said Pitinii.
Pitinii's experience abroad reflects the dedication she puts into her overall Mount Union experience, as well as the determination of the campus community to help students accomplish their goals and succeed as professionals.
