How to De-stress on Campus
May 13, 2025By Fatima Magana '22
ALLIANCE- May is National Mental Health Awareness Month, and at the University of Mount Union, de-stressing and helping the campus community relax are priorities.
Students de-stressing before finals week
Offering relaxation spots all around campus, like the hammock park and the Serenity Space, which are located outside by the lakes and in the Dewald Chapel, the campus community can enjoy an afternoon admiring the beauty and tranquility of Mount Union. The hammock park was built in the summer of 2022, whereas the Serenity Space recently opened in the Fall of 2024.
In addition, Mount Union offers different vicinities in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex, the “MAAC,” for its community to stay physically active. These include an indoor track, a basketball court, a workout area with treadmills, ellipticals, and weights, and an auxiliary gym for intramural sports practice.
On the other side of campus, in the Hoover-Price Campus Center, the campus community can hang out with friends on the campus grounds, play pool, watch television, or host a bonfire. The campus grounds alongside the B n B, one of the four dining areas on campus, were renovated in the Summer of 2022.
