ALLIANCE, Ohio — In addition to being ranked for the 32^nd consecutive year, the University of Mount Union is also proud to have earned Regional University status from U.S. News and World Report as part of its 2023 Best Colleges Rankings. 

Mount Union was ranked in a tie for 30^th for the Best Regional Universities for the Midwest region and sixth in the state of Ohio. According to U.S. News and World Report, regional universities offer a broad scope of undergraduate degrees and some master's degree programs. Regional colleges, the classification Mount Union had been in for the previous decade, focus on undergraduate education but grant fewer than 50% of their degrees in liberal arts disciplines, as well as some awarding two-year associate degrees.

Mount Union was also positioned 18^th in the Regional Universities Midwest rankings for Best Value, placing the institution third in the state of Ohio. This ranking takes into account the ratio of quality to price, the percentage of undergraduates who receive need-based aid and the total scholarship/need-based aid received by students. 

Mount Union was also once again ranked as a Top Performer on Social Mobility, which was introduced by U.S. News and World Report as part of its 2020 rankings. The ranking measures how well schools graduated students who received federal Pell Grants. 

Mount Union’s tuition is 11% below the average cost of similar institutions. Nearly 99% of undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid, and nearly 86% receive need-based aid. The average aid package of $27,454 demonstrates Mount Union’s commitment to affordability. The University offers more than $34.5 million in grants and scholarships each year.
