Mount Union to Host Army War College Members for Panel on January 17
January 04, 2024ALLIANCE — The University of Mount Union will once again host members of the United States Army War College for a panel open to the public on Wednesday, January 17 at 5 p.m. in the Alumni Room of the University’s Hoover-Price Campus Center.
Featured on the panel are Colonel Carina Kelley of the US Army Air Defense Artillery, Lt. Colonel Luis Peral of the US Army Reserve, Lt. Colonel Will Phillips of the US Army Infantry and Public Affairs and Colonel Kyle Takamura of the US Air Force Cyber Operations.
The four panelists bring a wide array of expertise on topics that are relevant for issues locally and abroad. Kelley’s focus is on the role of missile defense in national security and empowering women in the US Army, while Peral led an organized crime and drug task force and specializes in the efforts to stop fentanyl trafficking. Phillips’ emphasis is on the importance of the National Guard and how legislation impacts military recruitment, and Takamura brings a mastery in information technology and how artificial intelligence will enhance the Armed Forces.
