Impactful Faculty Members

The nursing faculty have been phenomenal with expressing expectations and providing support along the way. However, professor Schwendiman has taught some of my more difficult courses and has always expressed such a desire for us to be the best nurses possible. Through conversations with her and time in class it is evident that she is passionate about our success and if fuels how she prepares for lectures each week. Professor Concialdi has also demonstrated these characteristics in the rigorous content we are taught and tested on but also in the way she cares about our successes. I am fortunate to have professors that care so deeply about my success as a student and future nurse.

Advice to Prospective Students

It is important to find a place that provides opportunities for you to grow and feel at peace throughout your collegiate experience . When visiting a campus imagine your life there and all that the community has to offer. The organizations I am a part of have allowed me to meet individuals who are supportive and uplifting which allows Mount to be a place I can truly call home.

Why Nursing?

Nursing is a career that will allow me to grow as a professional as well as a sub field in medicine where I can make an impact by helping my patients. I am the first person in 3 generations of my family to not major in education, and I want to be the best caretaker every patient needs and wants. The hands-on skills I have gained through the nursing program at Mount Union have prepared me to step into real life situations with confidence.
