Choosing UMU
When looking at colleges, being close to home was a big decision for me. I’ve always liked the campus and after my first visit, I knew I had to come to Mount Union. I was grateful to receive the Dean’s Scholarship and the UMU STEM Scholarship. It feels like a second home here because of how nice and comforted I feel while I am here. Everyone is here to help if you need it; no one gets left behind. I would tell high schoolers looking at picking a college to always go with your first instinct. If you love the campus and your tour makes you feel like you are already a student, that may be the right school for you.
Why Finance?
Before attending Mount Union, I had a part time job with a company I can see myself with in the long run. By choosing finance as my major, I can work my way up within this company. It is my career goal to be one of the lead finance people for an organization. I believe Mount Union is preparing me for this through experiences such as Integrative Core. This program is making me a better writer. I can really stick to key points without directly stating the obvious. I also am better at sending emails to coworkers that sound professional.
