Center for Applied Learning and Industry (CALI)

Mount Union's Center for Applied Learning and Industry

The Center for Applied Learning and Industry (CALI) is a university-wide initiative designed to bridge academic learning and real-world industry collaboration through structured experiential education. Open to all majors and aligned with institutional priorities focused on student success, innovation, and regional economic development, CALI connects students, faculty, and external partners to address real organizational challenges while preparing students for meaningful careers.

What We Do

We connect students with real-world organizations to work on projects across industries, including business, education, foreign languages, history, and more! Projects can include: social media, content creation, project development, sales strategy, graphic design, budget development, and more.

  • Skills and Training Opportunities

CALI expands access to applied learning opportunities across disciplines by integrating course-based consulting projects, interdisciplinary collaborations, and credit-bearing micro-internships. Students gain hands-on experience, develop professional competencies, and build networks that support workforce readiness. External partners benefit from innovative solutions and access to emerging talent, strengthening community partnerships, and economic growth.

  • Student Positions

Student leadership opportunities include, but are not limited to: project manager, account lead, research analyst, creative specialist, industry liaison, billing specialist, budget analyst, and more. There are also opportunities for summer work and summer fellowships.
