Why Become a Physician Assistant?

I've made many personal connections with PAs throughout my life, and their compassion and genuineness has always stood out to me. I knew I wanted a job that allowed me to combine my love for medicine and my desire to make meaningful connections with my patients. I also like the lateral mobility of the career as well, which will allow me to grow as a provider and help me find the right fit in medicine. My clinical experiences so far include working as a medical assistant in a dermatology office during undergrad. This was the first job that introduced me to medicine and helped solidify my decision of wanting to become a PA. I am excited to begin my clinical rotations this coming fall so I can gain more clinical experience!

Mount Union's PA Program

I chose Mount Union because I had a great experience here during my 4 years of undergrad. I had great professors who pushed me beyond my limits to succeed in many ways, and I knew I would get that same experience in the PA program. I think there are many impactful aspects of the program that are preparing me for my career. From strengthening time management skills to critiquing exam techniques, you are constantly learning something new each day in PA school. Even though PA school is hard, our professors are constantly cheering for us and helping us build the confidence we will need to become successful providers.
