Strategic Plan

BOLSTER STUDENT RETENTION

At the heart of all we do is a drive to foster an exceptional experience that engages students in our welcoming and inclusive environment. Whether they are learning on-campus or online, or in undergraduate, graduate, or other educational programs, they should feel engaged, supported, and valued in an atmosphere that respects and celebrates their differences while meeting their unique needs and expectations. By meeting them where they are, we can be more effective in shaping their success and supporting their journeys toward graduation.

Fall 2025 Update
This initiative is now complete. During the first semester of the 2025-2026 academic year, we trained 1,046 students, beginning with student leaders involved in start‑of‑year activities, including Preview and Orientation guides, residence life staff, and others. We then hosted five core values sessions for all incoming students during Fall Orientation. We reinforced these lessons with extended training – including introductory Show Up concepts – in approximately 20 First‑Year Seminar classes.

Throughout the program, we also emphasized building integrity around Title VI and Title IX to help students make responsible, ethical decisions as campus leaders and to foster an environment in which every member of our community is acknowledged, respected, valued, and celebrated. At the end of each session, students completed a short quiz to measure comprehension, generating 1,046 responses with an average score of 95%, demonstrating strong retention of the material.
